About me
Steve Walton is Director of Applied AI at Version 1, where he leads the AI Practice, pioneering the company’s agentic delivery approach and helping create its Forward Deployed Engineer programme alongside Anthropic, where Version 1 is a Preferred Partner (one of six in Europe).
An exited founder, Steve applies founder thinking to enterprise AI: pricing outcomes and value rather than effort, and taking a lean approach to the AI IP that underpins Version 1’s agentic services, testing fast and scaling only what works.
His role is focused on creating high-performing human/agent teams, helping customers deliver faster, cheaper and at higher quality across the product and software delivery lifecycle.
He created Version 1’s AI Architect technical innovation programme, training over 100 senior technical leaders across the India, UK, Ireland, and Spain, and has delivered complex programmes across the public, private and financial services sectors.
